What’s shakin’ in the GFD?

Plenty, as it turns out.

In the past two weeks, one or both of us have attended events organized by our desert neighbors
1 The Pie Run – 60+ people (no, not our ages) drove to a local restaurant for huge pie slices and coffee.
2 The Dog Burn – weenie roast attended by 73 campers
3 Music HoeDown – local talent pickin’ and grinnin’.
4 The Taco feed and Mystery Play – big turnout to this annual fundraiser for our desert community.

Up for Valentine’s Day
* The Hobo Cookout – bring a can of soup or vegetables or meat to throw into a big pot. Not on our agenda….just not very romantic.
* The Yuma Crossing Festival – local celebration of the frontier roots of the city of Yuma.

All this in addition to daily activities like
- Aerobics
- Beading
- Hikes into the desert
- Creative writing
- Radio controlled aircraft flying
- Poetry reading.

The fun never ends. Until you pump your waste tank or fill up with (fresh) water.
